Handout </div>Singaporean-based health food company SaladStop Group has brought in another concept to Manila, this time focusing on Japanese-inspired comfort food for on-the-go lifestyles. The first Philippine branch of Wooshi does not have its own storefront -- instead, it occupies part of the space at SaladStop at Central Square in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.Wooshi, with its maki (sushi roll wrapped in seaweed) and rice bowls, is the SaladStop Group&#x27;s &quot;last piece of the puzzle,&quot; according to CEO Adrien Desbaillets. The brand comes after SaladStop, which is all about fresh salads and wraps; and Heybo, which is known for warm protein and grain bowls.&quot;The brand connects very well with the younger generation,&quot; he told ABS-CBN News. &quot;It&#x27;s fun, it&#x27;s vibrant, and I think a lot of younger Filipinos are going to enjoy it.&quot;&quot;And Wooshi is more of the on-the-go format. Handout </div>If you&#x27;re looking for authentic Japanese cuisine, you won&#x27;t find it at Wooshi -- and it&#x27;s not necessarily a bad thing. Designed with takeout and delivery in mind, the menu here is healthy but flavor-forward, combining familiar ingredients with fun twists.There&#x27;s Wooshi&#x27;s Philippine-exclusive Pork N&#x27; Roll maki (P350) which has adobo, mango strips, white radish pickles, cilantro mayo, and chicharon; Ebi Thing maki (P300) with shrimp tempura, bonito flakes, and yuzu teriyaki; and Tuna Turner maki (P350) with yuzu shoyu-flavored tuna, chili crab sauce, and crushed peanuts.The Big Bang Tofu maki (P280) is a vegan-friendly favorite with grilled tofu, enoki mushroom, toasted almonds, and basil pesto. Some people call it like the Asian Subway,&quot; Desbaillets shared. &quot;I think it&#x27;s the format, really, more than anything else.&quot;The same concept applies to Wooshi&#x27;s rice bowls, such as Torinik-ooh! (P290) with oven-baked chicken, charred corn, tamago (Japanese rolled omelet), and black garlic vinaigrette. There&#x27;s a bit of Korean influence in Seoul-mate (P400), which has bulgogi beef with yuzu teriyaki and sesame. Twelve years ago, we were on this site building the first SaladStop [in the Philippines]. This was the first international location for us as a Singapore company,&quot; Desbaillets recalled. &quot;Now, we get to bring sibling Wooshi to the table.&quot; After BGC, more Wooshi branches will soon be available in Metro Manila, not just as part of SaladStop but also as standalone stores. Wooshi, SaladStop, and Heybo were brought to the Philippines by Good Eats Specialists Inc. This company under the Tantoco-run retailer SSI Group also holds the Philippine franchises for Shake Shack and Venchi.
