Karen Flores Layno, ABS-CBN News</div>In case you haven&#x27;t heard, the first-ever pop-up inspired by Gordon Ramsay&#x27;s Idiot Sandwich comedy sketch is already in Manila.Make sure to bring a portable fan or umbrella as the store, designed as a food truck, is parked outdoors along Uptown Parade in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.Accommodating both daytime diners and late-night crowds, the al fresco pop-up is open from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily until August 16. The Idiot Sandwich meme, where Ramsay holds bread on both sides of a contestant&#x27;s head, became the basis for a YouTube series and a namesake cookbook with over a hundred recipes. The menu of the BGC pop-up is drawn from this same cookbook. We got to try the toastie and pastrami during the launch and they&#x27;re tasty enough, but nothing mindblowing given the familiar flavors (which is not necessarily a bad thing). You can also order juices and sodas, coffee, beer, wine, and cocktails, as well as Idiot Sandwich merchandise. There are a lot of nice photo spots, too, including one where you can pose as an Idiot Sandwich with Ramsay. <div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1779784298037gordon.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Karen Flores Layno, ABS-CBN News </div><div>Ramen Ron launches beef dishes</div>Michelin-selected Ramen Ron recently launched two new dishes, and both have ribeye and steak fat bits. Ramen Ron is under Amado Fores&#x27; AF Hospitality which also runs another Michelin-selected spot, <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/food-travel/2026/2/2/bgc-eats-michelin-selected-steak-frice-launches-grown-up-versions-of-comfort-food-favorites-1801">Steak and Frice</a>. So yes, we see the connection.The Ukkokei Beef Shoyu Ramen (P840) is obviously the bigger star of the two. It&#x27;s rich but not heavy: the ribeye is thinly sliced, the steak fat bits are just the right amount, and the light soy sauce-based broth balances everything out.
