The high-end Cebu resort was given the award for Best Pool and Best Beach, Island + Upcountry Hotel.</span></div><p>ABS-CBN was able to visit this exclusive resort and experience firsthand what makes it worth the international recognition. </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Filipino hospitality at its finest</strong></div><p>From the warm smiles of their staff to their attention to detail, Plantation Bay welcomes its guests with that hospitality that Filipinos are known for. The moment you step in the resort’s lobby, you’ll be greeted with a shell necklace followed by a quick orientation to help you feel at home from the get go.</p><p>The 11.8-hectare property has 255 rooms, all in low-rise clusters. There are also special villas, and rooms that are situated right next to the lagoon. Each room is spacious and can comfortably fit a family. The Old Colonial interiors are homey, yet luxurious. There are also bicycles that guests can use. They switch out their activities, so it’s best to check out the list to make sure you don’t miss out. </p><div><br/></div><div><strong>Real resort with a real spa</strong></div><p>Spread extensively in the middle of the resort is a 2.5-hectare saltwater lagoon, filled with filtered sea water. With depths ranging from half a meter to 5 meters, it is welcoming to all kinds of swimmers and can also indulge those who want to ride a kayak, a paddle board, or the electronic Weebo. It makes even non-swimmers want to spend all day in it.</p><p>There are also several freshwater pools around the resort, with extra features such as mist caves and waterfalls. Its serene design is inspired by an 18th century Tokugawa Japanese village, complete with bamboo-lined pathways and a quiet pond. Kilimanjaro is the easiest stop, with it being located in the center of the lagoon.
