Handout photo"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Taiwanese K-pop star Yeh Shuhua, photographed at Daxi Old Street, has been appointed tourism ambassador of her hometown Taoyuan. <em>Handout photo</em></span></span></span></div><p>Taiwanese K-pop star Yeh Shuhua has been appointed tourism ambassador for her hometown of Taoyuan, as Taiwan&#x27;s main international gateway steps up efforts to attract more global travelers.</p><p>The 26-year-old idol will feature in a promotional campaign inviting travelers to discover her hometown, home to Taoyuan International Airport that serves the capital Taipei, according to a press release.</p><p>Beyond serving as Taiwan&#x27;s international gateway, Taoyuan also &quot;boasts seamless transportation, an abundance of natural landscapes, a rich cultural heritage, and world-renowned local cuisine.&quot;</p><p>&quot;As the first stop for many international visitors to Taiwan, Taoyuan combines excellent transportation with diverse tourism resources and vibrant festivals,&quot; said Chen Ching-fang, director of the Department of Tourism under the Taoyuan City Government.</p><p>&quot;We warmly welcome travelers from around the world to experience Taoyuan&#x27;s unique blend of culture, nature, and year-round festivities,&quot; Chen said.</p><p>Officials are promoting three travel routes to showcase Taoyuan&#x27;s diverse attractions.
