Toyo Eatery/Facebook</div>Toyo Eatery has publicly denied claims of &quot;unfair labor practices&quot; by its former employees, saying it has been compliant with workplace regulations for the past decade. In a statement released Thursday, July 9, the Michelin-starred restaurant in Makati acknowledged the issues raised in the media, and said it remains &quot;open to addressing them through the proper channels.&quot;A recent report by Bilyonaryo quoted former staff of Toyo Eatery, who complained of working long hours without overtime pay and not having a valid employment contract, among others. &quot;While we respect the space for individuals to share their experiences, we wish to clarify that these accounts do not accurately reflect how we operate,&quot; the restaurant stressed. &quot;Toyo Eatery has always operated in full accordance with the Labor Code of the Philippines and all applicable labor regulations,&quot; it added. &quot;We take our obligations to our employees seriously, from wages and benefits, to leaves.&quot; &quot;We have consistently met these obligations throughout our 10 years of operations. Prior to this issue, not a single labor case has ever been filed against us, a record we do not take for granted.&quot;Toyo Eatery also mentioned the site inspection of the Department of Labor and Employment last June 3, which it said &quot;concluded with full clearance&quot; from the government agency.&quot;With this official resolution behind us, our focus remains exactly where it has always been: on the well-being of our team.
