Mercure Mactan Cebu boasts of 550 guestrooms and suites with locally inspired touches, a restaurant, a pool bar, and a lounge. Other amenities include a fitness center, steam and sauna facilities, spa treatments, a garden lounge, meeting rooms and event spaces, a swimming pool, and access to Mactan Newtown Beach.&quot;Introducing Mercure to the Philippines for the first time with the opening of Mercure Mactan Cebu marks a strategic expansion for the brand, as Cebu continues to emerge as a compelling gateway for travelers seeking culturally rich experiences,&quot; Garth Simmons, chief operating officer for Premium, Midscale and Economy Division of Accor in Asia, said in a statement. &quot;As demand grows for experience-led travel, we are excited to expand our presence in the Philippines and create more opportunities for travelers to connect with emerging destinations across Asia,&quot; he added. Mercure has been known for creating locally-inspired experiences through its properties since its founding in 1973. Inspired by Mercury, the Roman god of travelers, the mid-scale brand has more than 1,000 hotels worldwide.
