Climate-related discussions highlighted circular economy practices such as material reuse and upcycling.</p><div><strong><br/></strong></div><div><strong>Protection of cultural property</strong></div><p>The second day focused on the people and institutions that support the industry. Industry participants discussed opportunities for local fibers and fabrics in mainstream fashion, lifestyle products, and technical applications.</p><p>The convention concluded with the KatHABI Textile Innovation Fashion Show, featuring contemporary designs informed by Filipino textile traditions alongside updated interpretations of office and workwear. The event also coincided with the launch of activities marking the diamond anniversary of the Philippine Textile Research Institute.</p><p>Over its three days, TELACon 2026 served as a forum for examining how research, industry practices, and policy discussions intersect to shape the direction of the Philippine textile sector, with participants raising both opportunities and constraints facing local production.</p>
