Rest assured that we remain committed to providing fragrances that are not only high-performing but also safe for everyday use.”Meanwhile, the fragrance community voiced concern that some local businesses did not initially disclose their alleged methanol use in perfumes.The topic of methanol use is currently trending on Facebook, TikTok, and Reddit, with users pushing brand owners to share their certificates and ingredient lists.Methanol is a poisonous chemical that is sometimes found in counterfeit or low-quality perfumes as a cheaper substitute to ethanol, and its use is problematic. In the Philippines, local perfume communities are actively tackling the issue, with many respectable local companies stating that they do not utilize methanol owing to health concerns.
