<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/178773521877111 2.jpg" style="width:960px;display:block;height:auto" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Handout</div>MANILA — The Red Charity Gala returns October 3 with fashion designer JC Buendia as its featured designer for its 14th edition.The annual charity fashion event, organized by socialites Tessa Prieto and Kaye Tinga, will be held at The Peninsula Manila and raise funds for the Assumption HS 81 Foundation, Hope for Lupus Foundation and Philippine Red Cross.Since its launch in 2009, the gala has featured collections by some of the country&#x27;s leading designers, including Dennis Lustico, Furne One, Michael Cinco, Cary Santiago, Ezra Santos, Jojie Lloren, Lesley Mobo, Chito Vijandre, Joey Samson, Rajo Laurel, Ivarluski Aseron, Lulu Tan-Gan and Rhett Eala.This year, Buendia will present a collection inspired by the idea of making evening wear both elegant and comfortable.The designer said the concept came from years of seeing women attend formal occasions in gowns that, while beautiful, could be restrictive and uncomfortable.“This time, I’ll be reimagining evening wear through Asian-inspired silhouettes that celebrate rather than confine the body,” Buendia said.The collection will feature dresses designed to skim rather than cling, fabrics that move with the wearer and layered elements intended to add visual interest without excessive embellishment.Buendia is known for his understated approach to luxury, architectural tailoring and modern interpretations of Filipiniana. For the gala, he poses the question: Can glamour also be effortless?The event&#x27;s partners include presenting sponsor Bench, in cooperation with Vivo, as well as Jewelmer and The Peninsula.
