Nikki Buenafe Cheveh eyes back-to-back crown for PH at Face of Beauty International

<p>With just days before the prestigious Face of Beauty International pageant in Taiwan, Philippine representative Nikki Buenafe Cheveh is brimming with excitement and determination as she prepares to carry the country’s colors on the global stage.</p><p>“I’m really excited to go to Taiwan for Face of Beauty International, and to represent the Philippines,” Cheveh said. “I can’t wait to make memories, to have fun, and to represent the Philippines. Let’s go for the best, let’s give the most energy that we have. We’re aiming also for a back-to-back title finish so there’s no time to be a nine or an eight. It’s really fifteen or twenty over ten pagdating sa finals.”</p><p>The Philippines is aiming for a historic back-to-back win after Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano’s victory in 2024. For Cheveh, the challenge is daunting but achievable. </p><p>“I’ll be lying if I say na walang pressure, kasi mahirap talaga ang back-to-back and it’s something we all have to admit,&quot; she said. &quot;But you know, I believe it’s possible… like si Ate Emma (Tiglao) sa Miss Grand International. Hopefully soon sa Face of Beauty International din, so let’s hope that I bring the second back-to-back to our country.”</p><p>Cheveh revealed that Miss Grand International 2025 winner Emma Tiglao has been a source of inspiration and advice. “She always tells me to relax, just enjoy the moment, and energy is key. I’m gonna be calm but I’ll bring the energy to the competition,” she said.</p><p>Cheveh emphasized that Face of Beauty International is more than just about looks. “It’s a multi-faceted type of pageant and it’s very advocacy-driven. You have to be good with your pasarela, you have to be good in talking to people in terms of representing advocacies and also representing yourself when speaking in public. That’s what I’ve focused on… little by little, but in all aspects,” she explained.</p><p>Her advocacy centers on education, but it has expanded to community projects addressing basic needs. “Through education, I found this barangay that had no water. I was able to donate around 41 pipes deep, and even though it took a long time to install, they now have clean and potable water,” she shared. She also collaborates with the Red Cross, supports persons with disabilities, and works with children with special needs. “All these issues really contribute to education. It’s an intersection and they all go hand-in-hand in quality of life and in the quality of education.”</p><p>As she prepares to compete, Cheveh promised to bring pride to Filipino pageant fans. “My promise is to make you proud, to make you excited, and I want to bring you along in my journey. It’ll be entertaining, purposeful, and I hope you support me in this journey po.”</p>
