Present during the contract signing were ABS-CBN Chief Operating Officer Cory Vidanes; Ralph Menorca, Head of Programming and On-Air Operations; Alvin Kingson Tan, President of Chinoy TV; and Nicole Cordoves, Pageant Director of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Year 2. Ganiel Krishnan, ABS-CBN News</div>ABS-CBN formalized Wednesday a partnership with Chinoy TV to air Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Year 2, marking a significant milestone for the international pageant as it expands its reach to a wider audience.The contract signing was attended by ABS-CBN Chief Operating Officer Cory Vidanes; Ralph Menorca, Head of Programming and On-Air Operations; Alvin Kingson Tan, President of Chinoy TV; and Nicole Cordoves, who serves as pageant director of Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Year 2.In an interview, Cordoves shared that the upcoming edition represents a major leap from its inaugural year. While the first staging was held on a smaller and more rushed scale, the second year benefited from months of preparation and will now be mounted at the iconic Araneta Coliseum.“We’re so excited to welcome our candidates and host them here in the Philippines and really show them the pageantry scene that we’re known for,” Cordoves said. The competition will feature 24 candidates from 15 countries, including delegates from French Polynesia, the United Kingdom, Cambodia, and other parts of Asia.Cordoves described the ABS-CBN partnership as a long-time dream finally realized. “This was really on my wish list to have the pageant air on ABS-CBN. For us, this makes it feel like the real deal already, especially since this is a global stage in our second year,” she said, adding that the collaboration allows the pageant to widen its audience and amplify its message for the Filipino-Chinese community worldwide.She also emphasized that beyond competition, the pageant carries a strong advocacy component. A series of pre-pageant activities, including charity events and the Chinatown Gala, will highlight partnerships such as the Sagip Buhay Foundation, reinforcing the pageant’s commitment to social causes.“For me, pageantry has always been about the bigger purpose and the bigger ‘why.’ It’s not just a business,” Cordoves said.Meanwhile, Menorca underscored ABS-CBN’s continued support for Chinoy TV and its initiatives. “We’ve been in partnership with Chinoy TV for quite a while now. We’re happy to support their endeavors, especially since they’ve long championed the Chinese community in the Philippines,” he said, noting that the network is also keen to help amplify the pageant’s new and evolving advocacies.Mr. and Ms. Chinatown Global Year 2 will be held on February 10 at the Araneta Coliseum. The competition will be livestreamed on social media platforms, while the televised broadcast will air on ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Channel on February 22 at 10:30 a.m., ahead of &quot;ASAP.&quot;
