YouTube/Karen Davila</div>It&#x27;s been four years since Miriam Quiambao began living her dream of having a home by the beach with her husband Ardy Roberto and their children.The Miss Universe 1999 first runner-up, who has also built a career as a host, entrepreneur, and inspirational speaker, has been based in Boracay since 2022. She has since embraced a simple life, away from the hustle and bustle of Metro Manila.&quot;My dream was to really live by the beach, and Boracay is one of the best beaches around the world, so who wouldn&#x27;t want to live here?&quot; recalled Quiambao in an interview with &quot;TV Patrol&quot; anchor Karen Davila in her newest vlog.&quot;What was difficult was the packing, giving away, choosing the items to keep and what not to keep, and transporting everything here. But once we landed and saw the beach and the sunset, it was magical,&quot; she added. &quot;It was the best decision we ever made.&quot;Quiambao gave Davila a tour of their home, their second in Boracay. Pero dito, walang pressure na ganoon. Kasi people take you as you are,&quot; she explained. &quot;You can focus on the more important things in life [like] family and relationships.&quot;Her husband Roberto agreed, saying: &quot;Dito, naka-e-trike ka, naka-tricycle ka, okay lang. People, like millionaires, they own resorts [and they also[ ride tricycles, they ride bikes. Naka-tsinelas. Okay lang.&quot;On top of these, Quiambao said she gets to spend more time with their children in Boracay, where they can bond in nature instead of being focused on gadgets.&quot;Every day sa beach kami pagkagising after breakfast. They have outside time, wala sila sa gadgets,&quot; she said.&quot;It&#x27;s wonderful dahil I have the benefit of being with them every day and teaching them,&quot; she added.Looking back, Quiambao said she is happy with her current life, a stark contrast to her glitzy pageant and showbiz life in her younger years. &quot;[Back then] there was pressure to perform, pressure to always be at the top, pressure to always be beautiful,&quot; she said. &quot;At some point maaaring malaki ang kita ko, maaaring my shows were beating the competition. Pero kahit sikat ako at marami akong pera sa showbiz, it seemed dark in the limelight. Parang it seems so empty.
