Catriona Gray strengthens advocacy for access to clean water

<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782888566060cat.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is now a Waves for Water Philippines ambassador. W4W/Facebook </div>Nearly a decade since winning the Miss Universe crown, Catriona Gray continues to use her platform to champion multiple advocacies. On Tuesday, June 30, the former beauty queen was introduced as an ambassador for Waves for Water Philippines (W4W), strengthening her advocacy for access to clean water. She is set to join campaigns that advance water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions across the Philippines as part of her new role, according to a statement released by W4W. &quot;Having the role as an ambassador with Waves For Water gives me immense pride, not only because I believe in the work that is being done, but because of the mission and the vision that Waves For Water has to create incredible change in communities across the Philippines,&quot; Gray said. &quot;No community is being left behind,&quot; she declared.<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17828882831371782888461111.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>W4W/Facebook </div>It was in 2023 when Gray first joined W4W for a clean water mission in Batangas through a collaboration with a fast fashion brand. The Miss Universe 2018 titleholder went on to support the non-profit&#x27;s initiatives, using her platform to raise awareness about the growing water challenges in the country. Earlier this year, she went to Siquijor with W4W to help provide clean water by implementing water filtration systems, rainwater catchment tanks, and handwashing stations.Gray has been known for using her wide social media reach to support causes related to education and health, such as the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/pageants-beauty-queens/2026/1/5/catriona-gray-hosts-birthday-fundraiser-for-5th-year-1510">cleft charity Smile Train</a>. She is now on her seventh year as an <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/people-culture-events/2026/1/30/this-national-arts-month-2026-catriona-gray-encourages-filipinos-to-keep-creating-1636">ambassador for the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA).</a>
