ABS-CBN News</div>QUEZON CITY — Newly crowned Miss Globe Philippines 2026 Sasha-Juli Belle Penuliar Lacuna shared that she considers Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray her “lucky charm,” after the legendary beauty queen offered her words of encouragement before the Binibining Pilipinas 2026 coronation night.According to Lacuna, she had the chance to briefly speak with Gray backstage during the technical rehearsals.“She told me, &#x27;Good luck. Whatever the result is, you will have the impact — crown or no crown.&#x27; I will take that with me for the rest of my life,” Lacuna recalled in an interview held in Quezon City.The Tarlac representative admitted that she became visibly emotional during the quick interaction with her idol.“I was crying, emotional, and everything. It was the first time I got to talk to her. I was so glad I got the courage to talk to her and meet her. She is such a beautiful woman,” she shared. “I was starting to make her cry because I was crying. It was happy tears. I was so happy I finally got to meet my one and only idol.”The new titleholder explained that Gray has long been her primary inspiration for entering the world of pageantry.“My handler in Tarlac had been convincing me to join for a long time—four years. I was only in seventh grade [then]. Since Ate Cat joined Binibini, won Miss Universe, and seeing her journey and the people she has impacted, she has really been my role model,” she reasoned.Lacuna is now eyeing the Philippines&#x27; third Miss Globe crown. The country last clinched the title in 2021 through Maureen Montagne.“I will review the past pageants of Miss Globe, find out what the organization seeks in a future Miss Globe, and work towards that. We have to play the part of the next Miss Globe,” she said.
