He served as mayor, senator, and eventually as a three-term Vice President of the Philippines.Throughout his career, he became known for his honesty and principled leadership.The collection offers an intimate look into his journey, featuring photographs, official documents, and personal belongings. Each piece reflects not only key moments in his political life but also the values he upheld, including responsibility, transparency, and dedication to the public.According to his grandson, Robert Lopez Pucket, the decision to donate the relics was meant to preserve both heritage and legacy. By placing them in the museum, the family hopes future generations will better understand the kind of leadership Lopez embodied.&quot;Having the Fernando Hofileña Lopez here in Iloilo is a very good idea to show future upcoming leaders, students from grade school high school and college that Fernando Hofileña Lopez was a very honest statesman that served this country as mayor of Iloilo city, senator of the republic of the Philippines, 3 times vice president of the Philippines under president elpidio quirino, and twice under Ferdinand Marcos and at the same time he was secretary of agriculture and natural resources for three terms for 12 years. So he is a very good example for students and citizens of Iloilo, Panay, or western Visayas to know he is a very good example for everybody. I encourage everybody to know more about his life and about what the museum here in Iloilo has to offer,&quot; said grandson Robert Lopez Puckett. As visitors walk through the exhibit, they encounter a portrait of a leader who valued service over recognition. The items may be simple, but they speak of a man who remained grounded despite holding one of the highest offices in the land.The National Museum of the Philippines expressed its appreciation in receiving the donation from the Lopez family, describing it as a meaningful addition to the nation’s historical collections. Museum officials shared that the gesture goes beyond preserving artifacts, as it honors the life and contributions of a distinguished public servant.&quot;The memorabilia will speak about the history, our history. It&#x27;s not only about the person and the family but rather the glimpse of events when we had him as our vice president and to think that they are key terms of office of the late vice president. So it&#x27;s very important that it is part of the history of the narratives naibibigay natin sa mga Pilipino Lalo na sa mga kabataan,&quot; said Arvin Villalon, Deputy Director-General for Museums.More than a historical display, the collection serves as a reminder that leadership rooted in integrity and service remains essential. The legacy of Fernando Hofileña Lopez continues to inspire, offering a model of public service worth remembering.<div>  </div>
