Anjo Bagaoisan, ABS-CBN News</div>MANILA — The Assumption College San Lorenzo campus in Makati City is set to host around a thousand students and educators who will gather this April 29 and 30 for the 2026 edition of the Pinoy Media Congress (PMC), the Philippines’ largest learning event for communication students.ABS-CBN Corporation signed a memorandum of agreement on Wednesday, April 8, with its partners for this year’s PMC, the Philippine Association of Communication Educators (PACE) and the Assumption College.Representing the Kapamilya media company were its president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, chief operating officer Cory Vidanes — an Assumption alumna herself — and corporate communications head Kane Errol Choa.PACE president Reginald Gonzales and Assumption College San Lorenzo president Sister Irene Cecile Torres signed for their institutions.This year, the organizers hope that participants will be able to level up their awareness and engagement of the changing media landscape, which has become more digital, hyperlocal, and affected by artificial intelligence or AI.Among the topics to be tackled are digital platforms, radio and TV journalism, content creation, entertainment production, music, film, advocacy communication, and audience research.The sessions on how media is created, distributed, and consumed today are designed to help bridge classroom learning with current industry practices.“Because reality is, meron talagang mga schools pa rin, mga students and even teachers na, we can say kulang in terms of access to some information,” said Gonzales.(There still are schools along with students and teachers who are lacking in access to information on the field.)“And because of PMC, we are given the opportunity to gain more and learn more from industry leaders just like ABS-CBN, and the speakers that we have for PMC.”For Assumption College San Lorenzo dean Dr. Margarita Ladrido, the program will not only allow students to learn from those expertise but also from each other.“It&#x27;s in exciting new times, it&#x27;s an exciting new field, because media is changing and keeping up with media is very, very important to us and it&#x27;s something that we&#x27;re constantly working on,” she said.“As the older generation that&#x27;s here, it&#x27;s hard to keep up, but we know that -- that&#x27;s why this partnership happened, it&#x27;s because also our values are aligned, and we are investing in the future.”Sister Torres, the college’s president, added that media should be seen as partners in evangelization with opportunities for transformation.“I really trust, that this 2026 PMC will be more enriched, more transformative for the participants, and even for organizers — which we need for the world, for the church and for the Philippines,” she said.“Especially now, we really work together for very honest, truthful, conversations, communication that can build our society together.”Since its first edition back in 2005, the Pinoy Media Congress has connected the industry through ABS-CBN with the “future storytellers” — aspiring media and comms practitioners from various communication programs and schools across the country.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/articles-news/over-1800-students-get-inspired-by-media-experts-in-abs-cbns-pinoy-media-congress-2023-19902">READ: Over 1,800 students get inspired by media experts in ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Media Congress 2023</a></div>Aside from the talks and discussions, participants are also treated to appearances and performances by guests from the Kapamilya stable of stars.The over-two-decade initiative has been recognized by bodies such as the Philippine Quill Awards of the International Association of Business Communicators Philippines and the Anvil Awards of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2025/4/24/abs-cbn-brings-top-media-voices-to-the-20th-pinoy-media-congress-1635">READ: ABS-CBN, PACE bring top media voices to 20th year of Pinoy Media Congress </a></div>Its last iteration held at the University of Makati in April 2025 attracted around 1,000 students from at least 64 schools nationwide and saw appearances by anchors and hosts like Amy Perez and Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, as well as Pinoy Big Brother alums and P-pop groups.Registration is ongoing online via https://bit.ly/PACEreg.Interested communication students and professors may visit the official ABS-CBN Pinoy Media Congress and PACE Facebook pages for more details.PACE may also be reached for inquiries at secretariat@pace.org.ph.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/2025/8/28/-pinoy-media-congress-training-the-teachers-ng-abs-cbn-wagi-ng-philippine-quill-award-1138">READ: &#x27;Pinoy Media Congress: Training The Teachers&#x27; ng ABS-CBN, wagi ng Philippine Quill Award</a></div>
