Handout </div>MANILA — As Makerlab marks its 10th anniversary and expands its efforts to make 3D printing more accessible to Filipinos, CEO Mike Sy is encouraging creators to focus less on chasing trends and more on solving real-world problems.Reflecting on his entrepreneurial journey, Sy discussed how his concept of success has changed, particularly in the digital age.“Success belongs to those who keep going in spite of obstacles, not to those who never fail. People can transform obstacles into opportunities and ideas into significant solutions by persevering, learning from failures, and having the courage to dream big,” Sy told ABS-CBN News.He noted that patience and the drive to keep trying are among the most crucial skills anyone can possess when pursuing their ambitions. “Never be scared to fail. One thing that prevents us from succeeding is not making an effort. We have to keep trying. Have perseverance. Rather of chasing trends or reproducing current concepts, he challenged innovators to examine everyday difficulties and uncover gaps that remain unfilled.“Find a gap that you can fill. If you observe an issue, even if others are already aware of it, consider why it hasn&#x27;t been resolved. Perhaps you can figure that out,” he said.“Don’t chase trends, but address challenges,” he added.Last June 12, Makerlab launched the Philippines&#x27; first &quot;3D Printing Experience Hub&quot; at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, with a variety of personalities and creators in attendance.The mall was transformed into a three-venue immersive attraction, allowing hobbyists, entrepreneurs, students, families, creators, and industry leaders to explore the endless potential of 3D printing.
