But let’s be honest: it’s also challenging. And that’s exactly where grit, mental strength, kindness, responsibility, and wise choices will matter most.”</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782802296011IMG_2701.jpeg" style="width:633px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>Hizon said success is not built by talent alone — but by consistency, patience, and resilience. And while challenges and struggles remain a reality, he said it is important to prioritize one’s mental health, to choose kindness, and to make responsible choices.</p><p>“Grit is showing up when motivation disappears. Hard work is choosing discipline over comfort. Feeling anxious, lost, or tired does not mean you are weak. It means you are human. Asking for help is not failure — it is courage. To the parents: sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is not advice — but, &#x27;I’m here. I’m listening,&#x27;” Hizon said.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782802331110IMG_2378.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1782802343570IMG_2390.jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>The ANC anchor also talked about the power of social media, and its dangers, if used irresponsibly. </p><p>In closing, Hizon also tackled the freedom that university life offers, as well as the temptations that come with it.</p><p>Hizon, himself a father to a college student, said, “Saying no does not make you weak. Walking away does not make you boring. Protecting your future makes you powerful.”</p><p>Hizon is the anchor of &quot;Beyond the Exchange&quot; on ANC. It airs every Tuesday at 6 p.m. </p><p>A multi-awarded host, he was also a news anchor at CNBC, BBC News, and CNN Philippines.</p>
