Anna Cerezo, ABS-CBN News</div>From disappearing acts and clever stagecraft to dazzling illusions and imaginative set pieces, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The New Musical” brings Roald Dahl’s timeless story to life, making audiences feel as if they have stepped inside the pages of a storybook.To elevate the touring production, the creatives studied illusion techniques to incorporate more magic into the stage adaptation.“What you see in this version has never been seen anywhere else in the world,” resident director Drew Cipollone said in an interview held in Paranaque City on Thursday.  “The team actually went to Las Vegas and we went to the Illusions Project. We learned practical magic and invented some illusion magic. We added a lot more magic and illusion, a lot more scenic elements.”The production also uses projection mapping and immersive technology to transform the theater into Wonka’s magical world, allowing audiences to feel like they are part of the adventure.“You are invited into the 3D magical world of this production. It allows you to sit there and be completely immersed. Anna Cerezo, ABS-CBN NewsKarylle, who joined the cast as Mrs. Bucket, shared the experience was different from her previous mother roles.<div> </div>“I’ve had mom roles before, but not like this,” she said. “Some scenes melt my heart. The journey is new to me, and it is beautiful. And it is something I never even had the courage to take,&quot; she said.The singer-actress added the production has also encouraged her to keep growing as a performer.“There is much to be learned. It makes you want to do more, be more, and dream bigger,” she enthused. The musical stars Michael Dalke as Willy Wonka, while Cohen Toukatly and Oliver Wong alternate in the role of Charlie Bucket.<div>“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The New Musical” will run at the Theater at Solaire  until July 26. </div>
