<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/17842818212472-Composite straight (1) 2.jpg" style="width:960px;display:block;height:auto" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/>Handout</div>MANILA — Popular film and television comedienne Pokwang is officially stepping onto the live stage, headlining Studio A Productions’ upcoming dark-comedy musical, “Tulog Na.”Marking her highly anticipated theater debut, the production follows the company&#x27;s recent hit musical “Makara.”The seasoned actress reveals that the inspiration to brave the stage came during the 2023 filming of the comedy “Becky &amp; Badette,” when co-star Eugene Domingo challenged her to try live theater. Three years later, Studio A offered her the lead role of Rose, who co-owns and operates a mortuary with her husband, Mal.While the macabre setting echoes Pokwang’s critically acclaimed turn in the 2018 independent film “Oda sa Wala,” the actress admits the transition presents a formidable new challenge to her craft.&quot;Kaya ko ba ito?&quot; Pokwang recalled asking herself. &quot;Alam naman na sa theater, di ka pupuwede na mag-adlib nang mag-adlib. Ibang-iba ang discipline dito. Ang hahaba ng linyahan... Isa pa, musical ito, kaya dapat lang na may pa-andar.&quot;Anchored by Ebe Dancel’s iconic title track, “Tulog Na” blends mystery, drama, comedy, and romance to deliver a poignant story about living life fully before the final curtain call.“Tulog Na” runs from August 14 to 23 at the Power Mac Center Spotlight Blackbox Theater in Circuit Makati, with evening shows at 7:30 p.m. and weekend matinees at 3 p.m. Tickets are available through Studio A Productions&#x27; official channels.
