<div><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:960px;display:block" width="960"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1784518517177IMG_9735 (1).jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/><span class="fr-inner" style="text-align:left">Filipinos in Vienna, Austria celebrate Barrio Fiesta 2026</span></span></span></div><p>The vibrant spirit of the Philippines came alive once again at Barrio Fiesta 2026 in Vienna, Austria, as thousands gathered for a colorful celebration of Filipino culture, heritage, food, music, and community. </p><p>The annual event brought together Filipinos from across Austria, along with friends of the Philippines and visitors from neighboring countries, in a joyful display of unity and bayanihan.</p><p>Organized by the Council of Filipino Associations in Austria (CFAA) in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in Vienna, Barrio Fiesta once again served as the premier gathering of the Filipino community in Austria. </p><p>As the umbrella organization of Filipino associations in the country, the CFAA continues to strengthen community ties while promoting the rich traditions and cultural heritage of the Philippines through events that bring people together.</p><p>The festival grounds were lined with colorful booths hosted by Filipino associations and community groups, each offering a unique glimpse into the Philippines&#x27; rich regional traditions. Organizations including KULAY, EDABEM, KUSINERO, ENFiD, Bulakenya, and other CFAA associations welcomed visitors with cultural displays, handcrafted items, games, and regional specialties that reflected the diversity of the Philippine archipelago.</p><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1784518617740IMG_9717 (1).jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><div><br/><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1784518626361IMG_9653 (1).jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1784518637561Ate_Wamz_tattooing (1).jpg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div><p>Food remained one of the biggest highlights of the celebration. Booths served an array of Filipino favorites, from smoky pork barbecue, lechon, sisig, kare-kare, adobo, pancit, and lumpia to traditional rice delicacies such as suman, puto, kutsinta, and bibingka. </p><p>With Vienna enjoying the summer season, refreshing Filipino desserts drew long queues, as visitors cooled off with ube treats and the ever-popular halo-halo, enjoyed by Filipinos longing for a taste of home as well as Austrian friends and international guests discovering these iconic flavors, some for the first time.</p><p>The celebration was made possible through the support of partners and sponsors including Saladmaster, MTC, and Infinity Cargo, whose continued commitment helped bring the community together for another successful Barrio Fiesta.</p><p>Philippine Ambassador to Austria Evangelina Lourdes Arroyo-Bernas pointed the importance of the event, saying, &quot;Barrio Fiesta&#x27;s goal is to unify the community and it is the best chance for the Embassy, and the newly opened Migrant Workers Office to also offer their services to Filipinos. It is also heartwarming to see Filipinos coming by who live as far off as Vorarlberg, and those who visited from the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and other neighboring countries.&quot;</p><p>Adding to the excitement was the presence of Eurovision 2025 winner JJ, who spent time enjoying the festivities alongside the crowd. Although he did not perform, his visit delighted festival-goers and showed the growing prominence of Barrio Fiesta as one of the largest celebrations of Filipino culture in Austria.</p>
