As Founder and Studio Director of ONELIFE, she has built more than a wellness business—she has cultivated a purpose-driven organization grounded in education, evidence-informed care, and a deep understanding of the changing needs of women’s bodies. </div><div>Building Before the Industry Was Ready </div>When Tanya Aguila founded ONELIFE in 2013, the conversations surrounding women’s movement care looked very different. Pilates was largely associated with fitness. Physical therapy was commonly viewed as rehabilitation after injury. Discussions around pelvic health, prenatal wellness, postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and menopause had yet to enter mainstream wellness conversations. Rather than trying to create an entirely new category, Tanya focused on something much simpler: listening—and doing this consistently. “The more women we met, the more we realized they didn’t need another generic exercise program. It means women have more choices, more information, and greater access to the care they deserve.” She elaborates, “If ONELIFE has helped influence that shift, even in a small way, then I’m incredibly proud of what our team has contributed the past 13 years.” For her, trust has never been built through marketing alone. “I believe people trusted ONELIFE because we stayed true to our purpose and never compromised on quality. We didn&#x27;t chase trends or build programs simply because they were popular. We listened. We continued learning. We invested heavily in education and our team&#x27;s development. Most importantly, we focused on delivering meaningful outcomes for every woman who walked through our doors.” She sums it up, “Trust isn&#x27;t built overnight. Marilen Elizalde says it starts with the basics</a></div><div>Leadership That Grows People </div>Like many founders, Tanya admits that the early years required her to wear nearly every hat imaginable. She managed operations, marketing, training, client experience, and the countless day-to-day decisions involved in building a business from the ground up. As ONELIFE expanded, however, her understanding of leadership evolved. “I’ve realized that my most important role isn’t to have all the answers. It’s to create an environment where people who share the same values, vision, and passion for women’s health can collaborate, challenge one another, and do their very best work.” Tanya believes that education remains one of the organization’s greatest investments because healthcare is constantly evolving. Tanya also believes that healthcare professionals must continually grow alongside the science guiding their practice. We strive for longevity not only in the health and wellbeing of the women we care for, but also in the careers we help build, the leaders we continue to develop, and the impact we hope ONELIFE will have for many years to come.” <div>Innovation With Intention </div>As wellness continues to evolve at a rapid pace, Tanya believes leadership requires discernment as much as curiosity. Her team continually studies emerging research, attends international trainings, and collaborates with experts. Yet every new idea must pass a rigorous internal test before becoming part of ONELIFE. The first question is whether it addresses a genuine need experienced by women rather than simply responding to a passing trend. The second is whether there is credible scientific evidence or sound clinical rationale supporting it. Finally, the team asks whether it can consistently deliver the service safely while maintaining the standard of care clients have come to expect. “If the answer to any of those questions is no, we simply don’t rush into it. It’s not about being first. It has to be nurtured every single day through the decisions you make, the standards you uphold, and the people you choose to bring alongside you.”<div>A Legacy Beyond Programs </div>Although ONELIFE has introduced numerous specialized services over the years, Tanya hopes its legacy will never be defined by any single program. “I hope people don’t remember ONELIFE simply because we introduced a particular program or service.”  Instead, she hopes women remember something much deeper. “I hope women remember that we helped change the way they think about movement, recovery, and caring for themselves.” She also hopes ONELIFE will be recognized for helping elevate the standard of women’s movement healthcare in the Philippines while developing clinicians who continue raising standards throughout the profession. Looking ahead, Tanya sees opportunities extending far beyond Metro Manila—and eventually beyond the Philippines itself. Many healthcare professionals understandably pursue international careers, but she often asks herself a different question. “What if a Filipino healthcare company could create those global opportunities instead?” Encouraged by overseas clients who have shared that their experiences at ONELIFE were unlike anything they had encountered abroad, Aguila believes Filipino healthcare professionals have much to contribute internationally. “I genuinely believe there is a place for a Filipino brand of women’s movement healthcare internationally. Not because we’re trying to be the biggest, but because we have something meaningful to contribute. We have exceptional clinicians, a culture of genuine care, and a deep understanding of women that deserves to be shared with the world.” If, 10 years from now, ONELIFE has elevated standards of care, inspired others to do the same, created meaningful careers, and demonstrated that a Filipino company can lead globally with excellence, she says that would be a legacy worth building. <div>Practicing What She Teaches </div>Leading an organization dedicated to helping women care for themselves has also reshaped Tanya’s own relationship with wellbeing. “I’m still learning, and I think that’s important to admit.”She reflects on spending years believing that putting everyone else first was simply part of leadership. Recently, she has taken up tennis, inspired by Alex Eala. “Watching someone pursue excellence with so much discipline has reminded me that growth doesn’t stop at any age.” Recovery, however, is equally important. It’s about building capable people, sharing responsibility, and creating a culture where everyone feels empowered to lead, contribute, and continue growing.” Ultimately, the greatest lesson she has learned mirrors the very philosophy ONELIFE shares with its clients. “You don’t become stronger by constantly pushing harder. Instead of waiting for the perfect moment, she now believes women should care for their health long before pain or illness demands it. Wellness, she says, isn’t about perfection. “It’s not about having the perfect body, the perfect routine, or doing everything right every single day.” <div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1784660525225Tanya Aguila 4.jpg" class="fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:640px;height:912.561px" width="640"/>&quot;Don’t wait for life to become less busy before you start taking care of yourself.” </div>“It’s about building small, consistent habits that allow you to keep showing up for the people and the life you love.” She has also learned to approach each stage of life differently. “I’ve learned to stop expecting my body to perform the same way in every season and instead ask, ‘What does my body need from me today?’” Tanya adds, “That simple shift has changed not only how I move, but also how I lead, parent, and care for myself. I also hope we continue changing the conversation around wellness in the Philippines. Wellness shouldn’t be viewed as a luxury, a reward, or something we pursue purely for aesthetics.” Instead, she believes that it should be rooted in education, prevention, movement, recovery, and helping people live healthier, fuller lives for as long as possible. “If ONELIFE has contributed even a small part to that conversation over the past 13 years, then I’m incredibly grateful.” Tanya hopes that women are encouraged to choose themselves. She believes that when a woman invests in her own health, she’s not taking anything away from the people she loves. She’s giving them the healthiest, strongest, and most present version of herself.  Her closing reflection captures the philosophy that has guided both her leadership and ONELIFE’s mission for the past 13 years: “When a woman is given the space to bloom, she doesn’t just transform her own life. She changes the world around her.”
