Jose Sison in Cubao, Quezon City, following his death at the age of 88.Sison, who was best known as the host of the iconic television program &quot;Ipaglaban Mo,&quot; peacefully passed away on July 23. The news was announced by his son, Jopet Sison, who also served as a host of the long-running program. On the first day of the wake, former House Speaker Sonny Belmonte personally visited to pay his respects to the late television host and lawyer.<div><a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/people-culture-events/2026/7/23/lawyer-jose-sison-dies-at-88-1844">Lawyer Jose Sison dies at 88</a></div>Other personalities and government officials also sent flowers, including Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, and Senator Vicente Sotto III.The wake will remain open to friends and relatives until Monday, July 27, ahead of Sison’s scheduled interment in Antipolo, Rizal on Tuesday, July 28.In a statement, Jopet Sison remembered his father as a man who lived a full life dedicated to his family and profession.“We are comforted that he lived a full life as a lawyer, a husband to Josie, a father to his six children, and a grandfather to his sixteen grandchildren.
