Kabayan Noli de Castro to return to TV Patrol

MANILA -- Kabayan Noli de Castro will return to anchor ABS-CBN flagship newscast &quot;TV Patrol&quot; once he fully recovers.At the <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/news/business/2026/8/19/abs-cbn-reports-narrowing-losses-highlights-global-content-success-0837">ABS-CBN Annual Stockholders’ Meeting</a>, ABS-CBN News head Francis Toral said that the veteran news anchor is still on medical leave following his surgery. But the former Vice President, she said, looks forward to coming back.“Kabayan Noli de Castro remains on medical leave following his surgery last year, but he looks forward to returning once he’s fully recovered,” Toral said.She added that other senior journalists and anchors will continue to lead various ABS-CBN news programs and special coverage.“In the meantime, Alvin Elchico, Karen Davila, and Bernadette Sembrano are co-anchoring &#x27;TV Patrol&#x27; daily, with our other senior journalists being tapped for news and special coverage,” Toral said.De Castro last appeared on &quot;TV Patrol&quot; in November last year and has been on medical leave since then. His daughter, Kat de Castro, posted on Father’s Day in July 2026 a photo with Kabayan with a message asking God to continue blessing her father with good health and happiness.Kat de Castro also confirmed that her father will return soon. She posted online: “Yes. Dad will be back soon and he’s getting really really well.”
