'Seryeng Sinayà': DLSU alumni launch debut poetry, short story collections

De La Cruz, and &quot;L Café: Mga Kuwento&quot; by Oscar Solapco Jr.The works are part of the new &quot;Seryeng Sinayà,&quot; a collaborative book series and publication project by the DLSU Publishing House and Grana Books.The project takes its name from the word &quot;sinayà,&quot; defined in the Pambansang Diksiyonaryo sa Filipino as &quot;unang huli ng bagong lambat (first catch of the new net).&quot;The word  loosely translates to first taste, first act or the start and beginning of an event, which is apt given that both books are the debut works of the authors.&quot;Dáyo: Mga Tula&quot; is a collection of 31 travel ecopoems written in Filipino &quot;that map journeys across the Philippine archipelago,&quot; according to a press release. They explore themes such as tourism, the environment and archipelagic identity.Meanwhile, &quot;L Café: Mga Kuwento&quot; is a collection of interconnected stories written in Filipino, offering a closer look at the lives of its characters as they navigate their own stories alongside drinks.Both books will be available for purchase at the Grana Books booth during the Manila International Book Fair, which is scheduled to take place at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay from September 9 to 13.De La Cruz and Solapco are also selling the books for P300 on their respective social media accounts. They are also available at the DLSU Publishing House on the sixth floor of the Yuchengco Building at the DLSU-Manila campus.
