Handout</div>The De La Salle Santiago Zobel (DLSZ) Chorale brought pride to the country after winning two gold awards at a recent choral festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.Composed of Grade 6 to 12 students from the Muntinlupa-based school, the chorale won gold in the Children&#x27;s Choir and Folklore and Indigenous Music categories at the 24th Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod International Choral Festival, held from August 19 to 23.The group secured gold in the Children&#x27;s Choir category with performances of &quot;Where Kites Cannot Fly,&quot; composed and arranged by its conductor Michael Kenneth Fabian, and &quot;Sanctus (from Missa Virtutum),&quot; composed by Jude B. Roldan.<div><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1787805537749DLSZ Chorale 1.jpeg" style="width:960px" class="fr-fic fr-dib" width="960"/></div>This was followed by another win in the Folklore and Indigenous Music category, where the group performed “Ahibakle,” arranged by Bienvenido Constantino Jr., and “Bal-laygi,” arranged by Arwin Tan.This marks the DLSZ Chorale&#x27;s third consecutive gold-winning campaign at an international competition, following its victories in Thailand in 2024 and Japan in 2025.Organized by the Young Choral Academy and supported by The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, the Malaysian Choral Eisteddfod International Choral Festival is one of Malaysia&#x27;s premier choral events.The annual event brings together choirs, conductors, singers, and music educators from around the world, fostering cultural exchange through competitions, workshops and performances.
