The <a href="https://www.abs-cbn.com/lifestyle/people/2025/1/15/metro-style-digital-cover-kicking-off-2025-with-the-powerhouse-cast-of-incognito-1951" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong><em>Incognito</em></strong></a><em> </em>actress and singer-songwriter has broken her social media hiatus with her newest song, &quot;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mIOlKoEmw0" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><strong>Perpektong Tao</strong></a>,&quot; and its music video. </p><p>Last December, Maris figured in a controversy after her <em>Can&#x27;t Buy Me Love </em>on-screen partner Anthony Jennings&#x27; ex-girlfriend, Jam Villanueva, spoke up about the two actors&#x27; alleged betrayal. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-h7y-c36ZyI&amp;t=571s" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Maris released an apology</a>, addressing the issue and sharing her side of the story. She stayed away from the limelight until she and Anthony made their first public appearance together since the issue blew up to promote their new action series, <em>Incognito</em>, last January 7; then, a couple of days ago, on January 16, Maris took to social media to tease that she would release a song. </p><p>She wrote, &quot;Writing this song healed me in ways I never thought possible.
