Having already starred in “<strong>Walang Aray</strong>” with <strong>KD Estrada</strong>, she’s more confident than ever to share her experiences and passions. When she was invited to join the cast, she admitted to being clueless about it.</p><p>&quot;When they offered this to me, they didn’t tell me anything. First time <em>ko maka-</em>experience <em>ng may pinitch sa iyo</em>, <em>pero wala akong alam</em> about the project, my role. Nothing! <em>Hindi ko alam ano pinapasok ko</em>,&quot; Alexa told <strong>Metro.Style</strong>. </p><p>What ultimately convinced her to say yes were the songs of <strong>Rico Blanco</strong>, one of the most respected musicians in the Philippines. “<em>Kumapit ako kay</em> Rico Blanco. The songs of Rico Blanco. <em>Sabi ko</em> I really wanna sing Sir Rico Blanco’s songs so, okay, fine. <em>Bahala na</em>, <em>bahala na</em>! So <em>ayun,</em><em> nandito na ako.</em>” She took a leap of faith and trusted the process throughout.</p><p>At this point of rehearsals, Alexa shared that this is a period of discovery for her. The whole cast is still exploratory stage, despite the show nearing its debut. They are seeing what works and what doesn’t. This process can be overwhelming. ”There are points <em>na gusto ko na mag-</em>give up. ‘<em>Hindi ko na &#x27;to kaya</em>.’ <em>Pero kumakapit ako sa kanila</em>,&quot; Alexa opened up, but she feels the support of her castmates. &quot;I’m thankful <em>na nandu&#x27;n sila para sa&#x27;kin</em>,&quot; she said, acknowledging that theater is as much about collective effort as it is about individual performance. </p><div><br/></div><div style="text-align:center"><span class="fr-img-caption fr-fic fr-dib" style="width:700px"><span class="fr-img-wrap"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/1739610715761IMG_9279 2.jpg" style="width:700px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/><span class="fr-inner">Cast of &quot;Liwanag sa Dilim&quot; </span></span></span></div><div><br/></div><p>Though Alexa’s lips are sealed about the specifics of her character, she offered valuable insight into how she resonates with her role. “&#x27;<em>Yung</em> character <em>ko</em>, <em>punong-puno siya ng pagmamahal</em>. But at the same time, <em>minsan hindi sang-ayon &#x27;yung</em> world <em>sa mga</em> hopes and dreams <em>din niya,</em>” Alexa explained. “I think she’s very resilient and that’s me as Alexa.”</p><p>This resilience, which is at the heart of her character, mirrors Alexa’s own approach to her career. She has established herself as someone who never gives up, who moves forward despite the odds, and who always improves as an artist and a person. This courage, which is so well-defined in her character, is one that Alexa herself displays daily.</p><p>Aside from her growth, she sees an opportunity to reach new audiences, particularly Gen Z or those who have not yet discovered the realm of musicals.
