More than 1,400 Catholic schools across the country have joined the call against the alleged attempt of vice presidential aspirant Sen. Ferdinand &quot;Bongbong&quot; Marcos Jr. to revise history and &quot;canonize&quot; the regime of his late father.The Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), in a statement Tuesday, expressed its solidarity with faculty members of the Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) who criticized the younger Marcos for his refusal to apologize for the human rights violations and other atrocities committed under his father&#x27;s administration.<div><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/nation/03/08/16/ateneo-heads-slam-bongbong-revision-of-history" target="_blank">READ: Ateneo heads slam Bongbong &#x27;revision of history&#x27;</a></div><div><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/video/nation/v1/03/03/16/ateneo-professors-accuse-marcos-jr-of-historical-revisionism" target="_blank">READ: Ateneo professors accuse Marcos Jr. of &#x27;historical revisionism&#x27;</a></div>&quot;We refuse to forget the atrocities committed by the Marcos regime, and we renew our demand that the perpetrators of these crimes be brought to justice,&quot; the CEAP statement said. &quot;With the same fervor, we cry our hearts’ out, &#x27;never again!&#x27;&quot;CEAP is an umbrella organization of 1,425 Catholic schools, colleges, and universities nationwide. The group also admitted that learning institutions seem to have been remiss in teaching about the Marcos regime&#x27;s &quot;brutal savagery.&quot; &quot;Instead, they have been drowned by the Marcosian snares and the Imeldific lies,&quot; the statement added. With this, CEAP vowed to &quot;teach the truth&quot; while encouraging other institutions to do the same. After more than 400 faculty members of ADMU went out in public to denounce &quot;historical revisionism&quot; regarding the Marcos regime, presidents of five Ateneo campuses from all over the country also issued statements with the same sentiment. During the EDSA uprising, students and officials of Catholic schools, as well as prominent Church figures led by then Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin, were among the key players who called for the removal of Marcos from the presidency.
