<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2016/regions/03/padilla-031816.jpg"/><figcaption><div class="embed-desc">Former Camarines Norte Governor Casimiro &quot;Roy&quot; Padilla Jr. <em>Karen Cannon, ABS-CBN News Bicol</em></div></figcaption></figure></div><p>CAMARINES NORTE - Former Camarines Norte Governor Casimiro &quot;Roy&quot; Padilla Jr. has been arrested in connection with his failure to return a firearm issued to him during his term, authorities said Friday.</p><p>Padilla was arrested by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) as he was about to enter a friend&#x27;s home on Salcedo Street in Barangay 1, Daet, Camarines Norte at 1:30 p.m. Friday.</p><p>The former governor, an elder brother of actor Robin Padilla, was arrested by virtue of an alias warrant issued by the Sandiganbayan First Division.</p><p>Padilla was convicted of malversation of public property in 2012 over his failure to return to the Philippine National Police (PNP) the service firearm issued to him in 1992.</p><p>Sr. Supt. Marlon Tejada, chief of CIDG Bicol, said they conducted an operation against Padilla only on Friday since they only received the alias warrant for his arrest on Thursday.</p><p>Tejada said Padilla will be turned over to the anti-graft court. - <strong>Report from Karen Cannon, ABS-CBN News Bicol</strong></p>
