<figure class="op-interactive"><iframe height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2Kn2YjBzQ-Q?enablejsapi=1" width="560"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>MANILA - There can only be one Estrada in the Senate, according to Senator JV Ejercito who admits he may have to reconsider his plans to seek re-election in 2019 if his half brother, former Senator Jinggoy Estrada, decides to run for the same position.</p><p>Speaking to ANC Wednesday, Ejercito said if his half-brother, who just got out of detention last year, intends to seek a Senate seat, they will have to seek the advice of their patriarch, former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada. </p><p>&quot;Only one should run. I don&#x27;t know how these things will be resolved. But these are challenges. I will still stick to my principle that only one has to run... Probably the decision of my father would matter. But personally I would want to continue,&quot; he said.</p><p>The rift between the brothers has been highly publicized since Ejercito was elected mayor of San Juan in 2001, succeeding Estrada. Things went bad to worse when Ejercito signed a 2015 Senate committee report recommending plunder charges against Estrada.</p><p>Although they are still not in good terms with each other, Ejercito and Estrada united when the family faced the Zamoras in the 2016 polls. Ejercito&#x27;s mom, Guia Gomez, was elected mayor, while Estrada&#x27;s daughter, Janella Estrada, was elected vice mayor.</p><p>Ejercito, meanwhile, won a Senate seat in 2016, while Estrada was detained due to graft and plunder charges in connection with the &quot;pork barrel&quot; scam. Estrada was released from detention in 2017 after posting P1.33-million bail. </p>
