Another country warns its citizens against traveling to Mindanao. And there might be a possible breakthrough in the Batocabe case. Here are the stories making the headlines on ANC today:

Despite martial law
Australia has advised its citizens not to travel to Central and Western Mindanao. This comes days after the UK also issued a similar travel advisory after the mall blast in Cotabato City. Defense Sec. Delfin Lorenzana said the UK advisory is nothing out of the ordinary. Officials have branded the Cotabato blast as an act of terrorism. But they have also been quick to dismiss concerns about peace and order in Mindanao despite the imposition of martial law in the region. Cotabato City Mayor Cynthia Guiani will be on ANC’s Early Edition to contribute to the discussion on this issue.

Deadliest for 2018
Usman was the deadliest weather system to visit the country in 2018. Many casualties are in the Bicol Region, which was once a model for disaster preparedness. What happened? What was being done before that is no longer being done now? Vice President Leni Robredo said stricter measures for warning residents in landslide-prone areas are needed. Lawmakers are set to hold a budget hearing in Naga City at 10 am. Let’s see if any funds are given for the region’s relief, recovery, and disaster resilience.

The President and religion
Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas said those who call God “stupid” are “anti-Christs” without identifying President Duterte. In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said the President’s statements on religion shouldn’t offend Catholics. Panelo will hold a briefing at 11:30 am. The President has an event in Tagaytay at 5 pm.

Updates on probe
The PNP will hold a press conference at 9 am on the killing of Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Rodel Batocabe. This comes after police managed to talk to two witnesses. The lawmaker’s son Justine will be guest on ANC’s Headstart.

Dwindling funds
The state pension fund hopes to raise P79.5 million with the sale of condos in Pasig and Makati. With the agency’s problem of its dwindling funds, will the sale matter?
