Mikey Arroyo injured in accident; driver killed

Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo. <em>File Photo</em></div></figcaption></figure></div><p>PAMPANGA <strong>(3rd UPDATE) </strong>- The son of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, former Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo, was injured in a vehicular accident Monday afternoon in Bacolor town, initial reports said.</p><p>A Honda Civic being driven by a policeman collided with a Toyota Hilux carrying Arroyo. The Toyota Hilux was being driven by a John Macaraig.</p><p>The policeman died on the spot while Arroyo and another passenger were injured in the accident. </p><p>Rescuers had difficulty in saving the police officer who was trapped inside his Honda Civic.</p><div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2017/news/01/23/mickey-hilux-012317.jpg"/><figcaption><div class="embed-desc">A Toyota Hilux carrying former Rep. Juan Miguel &quot;Mikey&quot; Arroyo was rammed by another vehicle, killing at least one person.</div></figcaption></figure></div><p>Arroyo and his companion were rushed to the Mother Teresa of Calcutta Hospital but were later transferred to St. Luke&#x27;s Hospital in Metro Manila.</p><p>Former first gentleman Mike Arroyo, in a text message, said his son was in the passenger&#x27;s seat when the accident happened. </p><p>The younger Arroyo went through a series of medical tests, including a CT scan and x-ray, at St. Luke&#x27;s.</p><p>Police are still investigating the case. --<strong> reports from Trisha Mostoles, ABS-CBN News</strong></p>
