<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="https://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2018/news/01/30/military-camp-composites.jpg"/><figcaption>Government is set to build a military camp in Marawi City, which is expected to be completed before 2020. </figcaption></figure></div>MARAWI CITY - A 10-hectare military camp worth P400 million will be developed in Barangay Kapataran here in the coming months as government hopes to fortify the conflict-stricken area to prevent the re-entry of terrorists.President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to attend groundbreaking ceremonies at the new camp, which will serve as the headquarters of the Philippine Army&#x27;s infantry battalion covering the area, military officials said.The proposed headquarters will have its own artillery storage, billeting and recreational facilities.A two-story administrative building will also be constructed to replace the old city hall that was damaged by five months of fighting between state troops and government forces in the Islamic city, Lanao del Sur&#x27;s former center of commerce.The military base is expected to be completed before 2020.The construction of the new Marawi military headquarters comes 3 months after the end of hostilities in the city. <ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/10/17/17/timeline-the-battle-for-marawi">TIMELINE: The Battle for Marawi</a></li></ul>Duterte has formed a rehabilitation task force to oversee the P20-billion rehabilitation of the war-torn city, which it eyes to complete within 2 to 3 years.More than 1,000 people died, mostly terrorists, and hundreds of thousands were displaced in the city and nearby towns when violence erupted in Marawi City on May 23, 2017.
