MANILA - Car owners victimized by a rent-a-car scam dubbed &quot;Rent Sangla&quot; asked the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Thursday to issue immigration lookout bulletin orders (ILBOs) against three individuals allegedly involved in the syndicate.Assisted by the Lawyers for Commuters Safety and Protection (LCSP), the group asked that ILBOs be issued against scam suspects Tychicus Historillo Nambio, Rafaela Asunciacion, and Lea Constantino Rosales.<a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/video/news/02/15/17/suspek-sa-rent-sangla-modus-arestado-sa-laguna">Nambio is presently detained</a> at the Biñan police station and is under inquest.Asuncasion, the alleged scam mastermind, has also been <a href="http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/02/15/17/mastermind-sa-renta-sangla-modus-tiklo">arrested</a>.LCSP noted that &quot;more or less 500 complainants&quot; fell prey to the suspects where the victims were allegedly deceived with fraudulent promises of rental income, only to later find out that their vehicles were &quot;either mortgaged or sold to different persons without the knowledge and consent of the victims.&quot;LCSP&#x27;s Atty. Antonio Inton, Jr. said, the syndicate has victimized car owners all over the country.&quot;[T]here are information coming from reliable sources that the suspects are capable of leaving the country and may evade arrest for the crimes they committed against the victims,&quot; the letter read.A separate similar complaint was filed by policemen with the DOJ on Thursday, but details and copies were not shared with journalists.
