<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2020/news/03/11/sara-duterte.jpg"/></figure></div><p>MANILA -- <strong>(UPDATE)</strong> Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio donned a formal military uniform for her confirmation as a reserve colonel in the Army on Wednesday.</p><p>President Rodrigo Duterte’s daughter came to the Commission on Appointments hearing at the Senate with her hair cropped short and wearing a dark green suit and a &quot;Duterte&quot; nameplate on her chest.</p><p>The mother of 3 children (nicknamed Sharky, Stingray and Stonefish), said it was her &quot;honor&quot; to serve in the Army reserve corps.</p><p>“We are doing our best to strengthen the Army reserve force in Davao City to help our local government units in the Davao region,” she said.</p><figure class="op-interactive"><iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/KUT63X0B02Q?enablejsapi=1"></iframe></figure><div class="iwantbar">Watch more in <a href="//www.iwantv.com.ph/">iWantv</a> or <a href="//tfc.tv/">TFC.tv</a></div><p>Sen. Panfilo Lacson called the Davao City Mayor to step forward and asked in jest why her ally, Davao Rep. Isidro Ungab, also an Army reserve colonel, was removed as the chair of the House Committee on Appropriations.</p><p>“I had nothing to do with his removal,” Duterte-Carpio told CA members, who laughed at her response.</p><p>Duterte-Carpio’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago party earlier criticized House members for removing Ungab from the budget-writing body.</p><p>The CA also asked Duterte-Carpio on her willingness to invite members of the panel to her city. She replied: &quot;The Davao City government will always be open for everyone.&quot;</p><p>&quot;But due to the COVID-19, I suggest we postpone the travel of the Commission on Appointments to Davao City to a later date,&quot; she said.</p><div><strong>- with a report from Katrina Domingo, ABS-CBN News</strong></div>
