Sepe Jr., ABS-CBN News</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>The local government of Taguig has ordered a lockdown on the city starting Wednesday midnight as a measure to prevent the spread of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).</p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/taguigcity/posts/3211309038901564" data-width="auto"> </div><p>Under the lockdown, ordered by Mayor Lino Cayetano, only vehicles delivering basic goods and supplies will be allowed to enter and exit the city, the local government said on its social media accounts.</p><p>Supermarkets, groceries, convenience stores, and banks shall remain open, said the local government.</p><p>The local government said it was working to help small groceries and sari-sari stories with supplies.</p><p>For those who are unable to access supplies in their immediate areas, the local government said it was working with transport groups and barangay officials to establish community pick-up points and drop-off areas.</p><p>The local government said it will also distribute sprayers and disinfectants to all barangays for sanitation.</p><p>More than 68,000 senior citizens in Taguig will also receive anti-COVID-19 kits.</p><p>The local government added that it will publish on its Facebook page a list of establishments that will remain open during the lockdown, and assured it citizens that there would be ambulances in all barangays for emergencies unrelated to the pneumonia-like COVID-19.</p>
