Sepe Jr., ABS-CBN News</figcaption></figure></div>MANILA - The Makati City government said Saturday it would provide financial assistance to solo parents affected by the enhanced community quarantine imposed in Luzon due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.Some 2,049 registered solo parents will receive a one-time cash assistance worth P1,000, the city government said in an advisory.It will be distributed house-to-house starting Saturday, March 28, and beneficiaries will only have to show their solo parent IDs.The city government also earlier gave food packs to the solo parents&#x27; children who are enrolled in the city&#x27;s public schools.There are 788 solo parents in the first district and 1,261 in second district from the city&#x27;s 32 barangays, City Hall said.In an interview with radio DZMM, Makati City Mayor Abby Binay said the city would also provide financial support to persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens.She said she would order the early release of the yearly cash incentives to almost 80,000 senior citizens. These are supposed to be given in 2 equal installments every June and December.&quot;Our approach is sectoral. First are the students then the informal sector, solo parents, PWDs. It&#x27;s very targeted,&quot; Binay said in Filipino.As of Thursday, March 26, the city has recorded 33 coronavirus infections, with 2 deaths and 3 recoveries.The city also has 305 patients under investigation (PUIs) and 180 persons under monitoring (PUMs).&quot;This is a health crisis. We have to help those who are most vulnerable,&quot; said Binay, who is on self-quarantine herself after exposure to a fellow government official who is COVID-19 positive.
