(UPDATED) Several public, private and commercial establishments called for an immediate evacuation after several quakes jolted parts of Luzon Saturday afternoon.

Trade guests and exhibitors gather in front of SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, while others inside the building make their way to the exit as the earthquake struck.

The St. Cabrini Medical Center in Sto. Tomas, Batangas asked its staff, and patients to exit the medical facility.

Even confined patients had to be brought out to open spaces instead of letting them stay indoors when the tremors happened, a source who asked not to be indentified told ABS-CBN News.

Another hospital in the municipality of Tingloy, Batangas also told its staff to evacuate.

Several schools and malls in Metro Manila and nearby provinces have also ordered people to evacuate buildings and vulnerable areas.

Passengers at the Batangas City Port scampered to safety after feeling the ground shake.

Classes were stopped as students and faculty members of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila were ordered to leave the building and proceed to open spaces within the campus.

A shopping center in Calamba, Laguna, instructed mall goers and personnel to vacate the premises in case of aftershocks.

Office workers at the Northgate Cyberzone in Alabang were also ordered to suspend work and vacate buildings as soon as possible.

Shoppers in Alabang Town Center on the other hand experienced power interruption past 3 p.m.

The quake followed Tuesday night's 5.5 temblor that hit Batangas City and other parts of Luzon, which generated more than 40 aftershocks.
