MANILA - Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon on Wednesday urged Senate President Aquilino Pimentel III to rally their colleagues and take a stand on the issue of 'endo' or labor-only contracting.

"I call on the Senate leadership to come up with a statement. This is a policy issue. This is in the labor code. If we wish to revise this, this is a revision in policy," said Drilon at a media forum.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) last month issued Department Order 174 in the hopes of ending "endo," the unlawful practice of hiring workers for a period under six months, and then renewing their contracts to avoid regularization.
