Philippines reports 295 new COVID-19 cases; total now at 9,223

<p>MANILA - <strong>(UPDATE) </strong>The Philippines reported 295 new cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Sunday, bringing the country&#x27;s total number of confirmed cases to 9,223.</p><p>The Department of Health also reported 90 new recoveries, bringing the total to 1,214. Sunday&#x27;s number of recoveries is the highest announced on a single day so far.</p><p>Four more people died due to the illness, pushing the death toll to 607.
