CEBU CITY - Mayor Tomas Osmeña confirmed on Sunday that the Cebu City Police Office has accused him of stealing a motorcyle and a watch worth P150,000.

In a blotter report posted by Osmeña on his Facebook page, Patrolman Rommel Gelogo filed a complaint against Osmeña and three others for allegedly intimidating him and stealing the motorcycle he is driving while he was outside the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO).

Aside from the motorcycle, Gelogo also accused Osmeña's camp of stealing his watch worth P150,000 which was kept inside the motorcycle toolbox.

Osmeña, for his part, admitted that he confronted Gelogo outside the CCPO at 1:30 a.m. Sunday. This, because he saw him going outside the CCPO driving his motorcycle just wearing slippers and shorts.

As a result also, Osmeña called the City Traffic Operations Management to impound Gelogo’s motorcyle because it did not a have registration sticker and side mirrors.

“Well, I can apply the argument that it’s a citizen’s arrest. I also want to make it clear that they're challenging my authority because the mayor has operational supervision and control of the police department. That’s the law,” Osmeña explained.

Osmeña on Sunday went to the CCPO supposedly to see the two Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councilors who were arrested by policemen for alleged vote-buying.
