MANILA (2nd UPDATE) - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) experienced problems with its transparency server, officials said Monday, delaying unofficial tallies. In a phone interview, Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez told ABS-CBN News that the problem was due to an application error. “The problem is there is an application that pushes data from the transparency server to media outlets. They tried to restart but that did not resolve the problem,” he said. Jimenez said they wanted to look deeper into the problem but it required a Comelec en banc resolution or approval to check the error logs.The Comelec&#x27;s transparencey server was able to transmit data at 6:15 p.m. before it turned silent.As of that time, Comelec was able to transmit results from 0.4 percent of clustered precincts nationwide in the senatorial race. The transparency server was able to transmit data next hours later, at 1:19 a.m.Earlier Monday, Comelec Commissioner Marlon Casquejo said Director Teofisto Elnas Jr., who supervises the Comelec Transparency Server, was on his way over to Pope Pius XII Catholic Center in Manila to fix the problem.The church-based Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting is undertaking a parallel count at the Pope Pius XII Center. Media organizations also get data for their unofficial count from the transparency server. Casquejo said Comelec has been unable to transmit its data to the transparency server because of a data packet problem.
