MANILA - At least two Grab drivers are missing since late April.

Laurence Regis Fajardo of San Pedro Laguna was last known to have driven a jade green Toyota Vios with plate number VF 2611 to Cavite on April 22.

His wife Myla said Fajardo was supposed to come home at 5 a.m. on April 22 but did not return. The family received messages from Fajardo, who was seemingly saying goodbye, until April 24.

"May mga sumunod pa pong message na parang weird messages, na parang hindi na siya. Ang mga messages po parang mamamaalam, na mawawala na," she told radio DZMM.

(The messages that followed were "weird," like it was not him. The messages seemed to imply he was saying goodbye, that he will be gone.)

"Marami po nung huling araw ng message niya tapos nagcall pa rin po yan 3 times pero wala na pong beses."

(There were a lot during the last day he sent messages. He called 3 times but no one was speaking.)

Myla said they are clueless on Fajardo's disappearance, saying they did not have any problems at home.

"Kaya nagtataka na lang po kami kung bakit bigla na lang siyang hindi nagpakita," she said.

(We're wondering why he suddenly disappeared.)

Manuel Alegria Alamodin, another driver reported missing, was last known to have driven to Olongapo City on April 26 using a red vehicle with conduction sticker VF2632.

His wife Norlinda said she did not receive any messages from her husband after he went missing.

"Wala po eh, nagtext po sakin nung April 26, 7 ng umaga na may ihahatid siya sa Olongapo, yun lang po. Sa messages ko sa messenger wala rin siyang naging reply doon," she said.

(He texted me at 7 a.m. on April 26 that he will be driving a passenger to Olongapo, that's it. He also did not reply to my messages on Facebook messenger.)

Police Cpl. Jayson Olivar, police investigator of General Trias, Cavite Police, said one passenger was found to have booked the drivers.

"Sa investigation namin na same din yung passenger. Vinerify namin parang di siya legit na account, itong mismong pangalan ng passenger," he said.

(Our investigation showed the passenger was the same. We verified and found it was not a legitimate account, the passenger's name.)

"Yung address na pina-drop off nila same din and yung oras halos magkaparehas din, which is around 2 a.m."

(The drop-off address was the same and the pick-up time was almost the same, which is around 2 a.m.)

Olivar assured the kin of the missing drivers that investigation is ongoing.

"Tuloy-tuloy po ang follow-up namin. Sana may maibigay [na information] yung company kasi tingin namin kung iisa yung pasahero, iisa yung modus, isa lang yung pupuntahan," he said.

(We continue to follow-up. We hope the company will give information because we think if it's the same passenger, same modus, there will also be only one destination.)

"Kaya sana may makuha kaming any information from the company, para at least magstart kami dun yung way ng pupuntahan ng sasakyan, kung pa-Manila o dito lang sa Cavite. Mas marami silang information makukuha kasi may GPS."

(We hope we can get information from the company, we will start where the vehicles were headed, if it was going to Manila or just in Cavite. They have more information because they have GPS.)

Nicka Hosaka, public affairs manager of Grab Philippines, said they are coordinating with the authorities.

"Base po sa aming record, nakapagbigay na po ng impormasyon ang Grab pero patuloy pa rin po ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng Grab sa PNP para po mas mapabilis at kung may additional information na kailangan handa po magbigay ang Grab," she said.
