MANILA - Light Rail Transit 1 (LRT-1) said Friday it is extending operational hours and adding more trips to its weekend and holiday operations.

This comes as a new timetable is implemented during weekdays in the 20-kilometer elevated railway line from Baclaran to Roosevelt.

Under the new timetable, first trip on weekends and holidays will be at 4:30 AM, earlier than the previous 5:00 AM.

The number of trips on Saturdays and holidays will increase to 472 from the current 423, while Sunday trips will increase to 353 from the current 323.

LRT-1 operator Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said this move was driven by the positive feedback garnered from the current new timetable during weekdays, where their service is available as early as 4:30 am and as late as 10:15 pm. Number of daily trips was also increased from 512 to 554.
