Kabataan lawmaker recognized as 'One Young World Politician of the Year'

<p>MANILA - Kabataan Party-List Rep. Sarah Elago was recognized as one of this year&#x27;s One Young World Politician of the Year, which recognizes 5 of the &quot;world&#x27;s most outstanding politicians&quot; representing the youth.</p><p>&quot;Philippines and Kabataan represent! Malugod na ibinabahagi ng @KabataanPL ang pagkilala na ito sa lahat ng kabataan na nagsusulong ng bagong pulitika ng pag-asa, pagkilos at pagbabago na naglilingkod sa sambayanan nang buong husay at katapatan,&quot; Elago said in a Facebook post.</p><div><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script></div><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3560947280591025&amp;id=100000273638542&amp;set=p.3560947280591025" data-width="auto"> </div><p>According to One Young World, the annual award is given to politicians between the ages of 18-35 who &quot;have a positive impact on young people in their communities and countries.&quot; </p><p>&quot;Through their important work, these candidates highlight the benefit of including young people in politics,&quot; One Young World said.</p><p>The other winners were Erik Marquardt, 33, of Germany; Joanah Mamombe, 27, of Zimbabwe; Michael Tubbs, 30, of the United States; and Zarifa Ghafari, 28, of Afghanistan.</p><p>The 5 awardees will be presented with the award at the One Young World 2021 Summit taking place in Munich, Germany on April 23-26.</p>
