Orange rainfall warning up in Metro Manila, 3 other areas

State weather bureau PAGASA hoisted Tuesday morning an orange warning alert in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Bataan and Batangas due to possible floods in the next two hours.

An orange warning means there will be 15-30mm of intense rain observed in 1 hour, which is expected to continue in the next 2 hours.

The alert was issued at 7:35 a.m.

A yellow warning level was also raised in Rizal, Cavite, Pampanga and Zambales.

PAGASA said light to moderate with occasional heavy rains affecting Laguna and Quezon may persist within 3 hours. "Expect light to moderate rains over Tarlac and Nueva Ecija for the next 1-2 hours," the weather bureau said.

PAGASA earlier said more rains are expected in large swaths of Luzon, including Metro Manila, as tropical depression Henry moves away from the country while a low pressure area or brewing storm gathers strength off the eastern coast.

Henry, which forced the cancellation of classes in some areas, made landfall before dawn in Fuga Island in Cagayan and is now heading to the West Philippine Sea.
