(NLRC), a state-run firm tasked to oversee the development of a railway system that links the capital to the north.</p><p>President Rodrigo Duterte signed Moreno’s appointment paper on July 12. The actor-turned politician will serve the unexpired term of Jose Aliling, who was supposed to step down from the board on June 30, 2018.</p><p>In a separate interview, Moreno confirmed that the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), the parent firm of NLRC, approved his nomination.</p><p>“I am honored and humbled to be given the chance to work in the government again, although in a different capacity,” Moreno said in a statement sent to ABS-CBN News. </p><p>“I’d like to thank the President for the trust and confidence,” he said.</p><p>Moreno, Francisco Domagoso in real life, lost his senatorial bid in 2016 after serving three consecutive terms as Manila Vice Mayor.</p>
