<div class="embed-wrap"><figure data-feedback="fb:likes,fb:comments"><img src="http://sa.kapamilya.com/absnews/abscbnnews/media/2019/life/08/06/20190806-hanna.jpg"/></figure></div>MANILA (UPDATE)—State weather bureau PAGASA on Tuesday night placed 2 areas under signal no. 1 as severe tropical storm Hanna slightly intensified.Tropical cyclone wind signal no. 1 remains hoisted over Batanes and Babuyan group of islands.As of 5 a.m. Wednesday, Hanna has maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph), with gusts of up to 135 kph.It is currently moving west-northwest at a speed of 10 kph and was last spotted 610 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.Hanna has a slim chance of hitting land and will leave the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) on Friday night.Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring another low-pressure area (LPA) located 270 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan.Moderate to heavy monsoon rains may affect the northern portions of Palawan (including Calamian and Cuyo Islands), Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Zambales, Bataan, Aklan and Antique.Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Central Visayas and Western Visayas will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms.Fisherfolks and those with small seacraft are advised against going out to sea in areas under signal no.1, the eastern and western seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon, seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas, and the northern and eastern seaboards of Mindanao due to potentially rough sea conditions.Bad weather has forced the cancellation of classes in some provinces in Luzon.<ul class="op-related-articles">	<li><a href="https://news.abs-cbn.com/news/08/06/19/walangpasok-agosto-7-miyerkoles">#WalangPasok: Agosto 7, Miyerkoles</a></li></ul>Visit the <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pg/PAGASA.DOST.GOV.PH/videos/?ref=page_internal">ABS-CBN Weather Center</a> for the latest weather updates.
