MANILA—Rains will persist across the country Saturday due to the enhanced southwest monsoon or habagat, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

Weather specialist Gener Quitlong said typhoon Hanna (international name Lekima) has left the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), but will continue to strengthen the habagat.

Hanna is expected to weaken after making landfall over eastern China, he said.

Meanwhile, Quitlong said typhoon Krosa remains stationary at the outskirts of the Philippine Sea and was last spotted 2,025 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

The rest of Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered to isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.
